The Project: A Complete Laboratory Furniture and Fitout for Oil and Gas Research
To complete their lab installment, we make sure the facility requires functional, safe, and ready to do research for supporting a wide range of analytical and applied research activities related to petroleum chemistry, material testing, and environmental analysis.
From the outset, this project presented unique challenges that required deep expertise in both laboratory design and the specific operational demands of oil and gas research environments.

What We Delivered to Thermochem
We provided a full range of laboratory furniture and fitout components for the project, each designed and installed to meet the specific requirements of a dynamic oil and gas research setting.
Chemical-resistant Laboratory Benching
A modular benching system with phenolic resin worktops in each of the main research zones became the centerpiece of the fitout.
This substance was chosen due to its shown ability to resist stains and not absorb solvents in chemical research settings. To accommodate the large footprint equipment typical of oil and gas testing and to enable multi-researcher access, island benching designs were employed in the primary analytical area.
Chemical Storage
We supplied and installed dedicated chemical storage cabinetry designed for segregated storage of flammables, corrosives, and oxidizers (you can see our chemical storage product here)
All cabinet hardware was chosen to be corrosion-resistant, and under-bench storage units were designed with full-perimeter bunding to contain possible spills.
Ergonomic Workstations
We understood that research entails both active laboratory work and data processing. In order to provide ergonomic flexibility for researchers who switch between bench work and data documentation throughout the working day.
Integrated Safety Infrastructure
Emergency eyewash stations, safety showers, fire extinguisher mounting points, and spill kit stations were incorporated directly into the fitout plan rather than added as afterthoughts insuring they are both accessible and integrated into the natural flow of the workspace.
